MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431035481 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on May 4, 2024, for 'self-heating enabled dental wax carving assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rupsa Das; Pratyasa Panda; and Dr. Saurav Panda.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A self-heating enabled dental wax carving assistive device, comprises of an elongated body 1 having a first end 2 and second end 3 developed to be hand-held by a medical practitioner, first end 2 carved with a first slot 4 for engaging different sized cutting, plurality of different sized scooping units 7 associated with the device, second slot 5 carved at the second end 3 engaged with the scooping unit 7 for aiding the practitioner in scooping any surplus amount of wax, a regulator switch 8 installed at mid-point of the body 1 to initiate heating of the engaged blades 6 or scooping units 7, a heating unit integrated in the first and second slots 5 that is actuated to heat the engaged blade 6 and scooping unit 7, and a thermostat is configured with the slots for monitoring temperature of the blades 6 and scooping units 7."
