MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641025227 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on March 3, for 'self-maintaining solar panel system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sathyavani Bandela; and Dr. Haripriya Vemuganti.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A self-maintaining solar panel system comprising a plurality of hexagonal segments 101 to enable folding and unfolding movements, each segment 101 coated with titanium dioxide and silicon dioxide to enable water droplets to bead and roll off, a motorized canopy 104 system fabricated of reinforced polyethylene tarpaulin treated with anti-static and chemical-resistant coatings to form a hydrophobic nano-ceramic layer on the segments 101, an animal deterrent arrangement to protect wiring and segments 101 from wildlife, a plurality of Ultrasonic emitters 110 to generate variable frequency sounds, a shock prevention and vibration-damping arrangement 111 to withstand electro-magnetic interference, a plurality of environmental sensors to monitor atmospheric conditions, a thermal management arrangement to prevent hotspot formation, infrared thermal cameras 112 to scan segment 101 surfaces, a bypass diodes to prevent reverse current flow, and an arc-fault detection circuit to monitor for electrical anomalies."
