Inventor(s) include K. Senthilkumar; A. Vijayalakshmi; P. Shamugasundaram; and Manjuladevi. K.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A self-preserving cosmetic composition for men's grooming applications is disclosed. The composition comprises Sodium Coco PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate (SCPCP), Ricinoleic Acid, and Sorbitan Caprylate, present in a predetermined ratio to enable synergistic interaction among the components. The interaction results in the formation of an amphiphilic antimicrobial system configured to provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria, yeast, and mold. The system further stabilizes the formulation matrix and imparts skin-conditioning properties, thereby enhancing product performance. The composition is substantially free from conventional synthetic preservatives and is capable of maintaining microbial stability during storage and use. The multifunctional nature of the components enables integration of antimicrobial protection, emulsion stability, and conditioning within a single system. The composition is suitable for use in various men's grooming products, including lotions, creams, gels, and post-shave formulations, while ensuring safety, stability, and improved sensory characteristics."
