MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023569 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'self-reliant mobility assistive system for physically disabled.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ekta Kapoor; and Dr. Aneesh John T.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A self-reliant mobility assistive system for physically disabled, comprising a circular platform 1 installed with a curved-shaped member 2, a member 2 provides support to back portion of the user, a telescopically operated rod 3 to accommodate a physically disabled user, a user-interface for selecting location, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for detecting exact location of the user, a motorized two-axis lead screw arrangement 5 for providing a suitable bi-directional motion to the rod 3, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting height of the user, a speaker 6 for notifying the user to accommodate a strap, a laser sensor for detecting dimensions of the user's waist, a motorized roller 7 for securing the user, a speaker 6 for alerting guardian/caretaker of the user, a push-button 8 to be pressed in case of an emergency, an air compressor 9 for inflating an inflatable unit."
