MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517013858 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 18, for 'separator for electrochemical device, method for manufacturing same, and electrochemical device comprising same.'

Inventor(s) include Ka, Kyung Ryun; Sung, Dong Wook; Sung, In Hyouk; Kim, Ji Hyeon; and Kim, Ji Yeon.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a separator for an electrochemical device, the separator comprising: a porous polymer substrate; and a porous coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate, wherein: the porous coating layer comprises a polymer binder, inorganic particles, and an organic filler; the porous coating layer comprises 1 to 10 parts by weight of the polymer binder, based on the total weight of the porous coating layer; and the packing density of the inorganic particles is 2 g/cm3 (inclusive) to 2.5 g/cm3 (inclusive)."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 26, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/002420.
