MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012434 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'sewage pipe leakage repair assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An sewage pipe leakage repair assistive device comprises of an elongated body 1 accessed by user for installing body 1 at site of defect on a sewage pipeline, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 is installed on body 1 for capturing multiple images in vicinity of body 1, ultrasonic sensor assembled on body 1 to determine cross-sectional dimension of pipeline, expandable ring 3 integrated on front portion of body 1 to expand/retract for attaining determined dimensions in a manner to fit into pipeline at site of defect, flow rate sensor integrated in body 1 for monitoring flow rate of water through body 1, angle sensor is integrated in body 1 for monitoring angle of flaps 4, plurality of flaps 4 are integrated in body 1, each by means of a motorized hinges 5 to orient flaps 4 at a pre-defined angle in order to regulate flow of water within body 1."
