MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012901 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'shading device for two-wheeler vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A shading device for two-wheeler vehicle, comprising a platform 1 installed over seat of a two-wheeler vehicle, a microphone 4 accessed by user for feeding commands for securing device with the two-wheeler vehicle, a camera 5 detects exact location of fork and backrest and based on which primary and secondary members 3 extend to position two motorized clamp 6 in contact with fork and backrest for gripping fork and backrest, a rain sensor detects rainfall, a set of motorized sliders 8 translates a frame 7 equipped with a transparent sheet in front of driver's face, plurality of C-shaped units 9 get hinged with primary set of members 2 and which are deployed by plurality of motorized hinges 10 to minimize air drag acting upon sheet, a motorized roller rotates for unwrapping a fabric wrapped over rollers for covering driver and passenger from side."
