MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202544023021 A) filed by Tyco Electronics Technology Co. Ltd.; and Tyco Electronics (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., Suzhou, China, on March 14, for 'shielding component and connector.'
Inventor(s) include Li, Jianxiong; Zhang, Reicky; Shi, Neil; Li, Lei; and Hu, Tomo.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a shielding component and a connector. The shielding component is used for fitting onto a terminal holder (23) of a connector. The shielding component (1) comprises: a cylindrical body (11) with front and rear ends opposite in its axial direction; and multiple cantilevers (12) connected to the front end of the cylindrical body (11) and suitable for insertion into a mounting hole (501) in a mounting panel (5). The cantilever (12) comprises: a spring arm part (121) which is used for electrical contact with the inner wall surface of the mounting hole (501); and a fixing part (122) which is connected between the spring arm part (121) and the cylindrical body (11). A rigid protrusion (1a) protruding outward is formed on the fixing part (122), the rigid protrusion (1a) is suitable for interference fit with the inner wall surface of the mounting hole (501), and the inner side of the fixing part (122) is suitable for resting against the terminal holder (23) to limit the radial shaking of the shielding component (1) relative to the mounting panel (5) in a radial direction of the mounting hole (501). In the present invention, the rigid protrusions on the shielding component can limit and reduce the radial shaking of the shielding component relative to the mounting panel, thereby reducing the degree of wear of the shielding component and ensuring stable electrical contact between the shielding component and the mounting panel. In addition, the shielding component of the present invention has a simple structure, is easy to manufacture, and greatly reduces manufacturing costs."
