MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013450 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'shielding device for sleep.'

Inventor(s) include Ravneet Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A shielding device for sleep, comprises of a U-shaped extendable frame 1 positioned on a fixed surface accommodated with a user extend/retract as per the user's height in view of enclosing the user within the frame 1, a camera 2 for detecting exact location of user on the fixed surface along with detecting the user's height, a set of omnidirectional motorized wheels 3 positioning the frame 1 around the user as per the user's location, a pair of C-shaped plates 4, a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor to detect presence of mosquitoes in proximity to frame 1, a pair of motorized hinges 6 for tilting the frame 1, C-shaped motorized sliders 7 for translating the hinges 6 in view of deploying members 5 away from each other, a smoke sensor for detecting presence of smoke in surroundings, and a speaker 8 for notifying the user regarding the detected smoke."
