MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024811 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'shifting device for wooden slabs.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A shifting device for wooden slabs, comprising an elongated frame 1 enclosed with a multi-slot flap 2 positioned over a platform, plurality of ball and socket joints for imparting rotational motion to flap 2 for enabling movement along curved paths, a pneumatic locking pin multi-slot flap 2 arranged horizontally to extend to receive a wooden slab and retract to fix slab into slot with locking pin, wherein a gripper 5 is provided in slot for acquiring a grip over slab, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 do inspection, a multi-motor actuator 7 tilt of slab for maintaining stability, a v-shaped articulated member 3 actuated by hydraulic hinge joints 4, having a hydraulic based helical teeth brake shoe for stabilizing slab, a pressure sensor and, a connecting rod and a shock absorber pad 8 supported by a support flap 2 on detecting an uneven surface."
