MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018904 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'shoe maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Poonam Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A shoe maintenance device, comprising a curved-shaped member 1 positioned in contact with heel counter of a shoe, a camera 5 detecting exact location of the toe box for actuating rod 4 to extend for positioning the body 2 underneath the toe box, a set of ultrasonic sensors detect shape and dimensions of the toe box for actuating motorized hinges 6 for tilting plates 3 towards/away for aligning body 2 underneath the box, a humidity sensor detecting humidity level within the shoe for actuating a hot air blower 7 for blowing hot air within he shoe in eliminating humidity and a UV (Ultraviolet)-based sanitization unit 8 emitting UV radiations in view of sanitizing the shoe."
