MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611023287 A) filed by Malaviya National Institute Of Technology, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Feb. 27, for 'short panel concrete pavement with optimised geometry.'
Inventor(s) include Rameshwar J. Vishwakarma; and Ravi Kumar Meena.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a Short Panel Concrete Pavement (SPCP) system optimised for improved structural performance and cost efficiency compared to conventional Jointed Plain Concrete Pavement (JPCP). Rectangular, hexagonal, and square panels with dimensions between 500 mm and 1500 mm and thicknesses between 100 mm and 200 mm are analysed using finite element analysis under combined wheel and temperature loading. Load transfer is achieved through aggregate interlocking, eliminating dowel bars. Results show that a 1000 mm 1000 mm square panel configuration reduces flexural stress by about 20%, deflection by about 10%, and construction cost by about 25%, making the invention suitable for low-traffic rural and urban roads."
