MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122995 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'silent signal system with lyapunov attitude control for deep space communication.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Poongundran Selvaprabhu; Karthik Mukund; Siddharth Shrivastava; and Rahul Krishnan.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a satellite communication system for deep space applications. The system includes a spacecraft having an onboard computer configured to generate digital message data and determine desired attitude parameters, an optical signal generation module configured to convert the digital message data into a narrow beam optical signal, an attitude control module having a Lyapunov stability algorithm configured to receive the desired attitude parameters and generate control signals for maintaining spacecraft orientation, and a reaction wheel system operatively connected to the attitude control module and configured to adjust spacecraft attitude based on the control signals to maintain precise alignment of the optical signal transmission. The system further includes a ground-based receiving station having pump wave generation means configured to generate pump light signals, and signal processing means configured to combine received optical signals with the pump light signals to amplify and recover the original digital message data."
