MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019841 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 5, for 'sitting assistive device for disabled.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sitting assistive device for disabled, comprising an elongated body 101 affixed with inner portion of a four-wheeler with plurality of suction units 102 to affix body 101 with inner portion, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 104 installed over body 101 to evaluate dimensions of wheelchair, a sliding unit 105 installed over body 101 to provide translation to a plate 106 configured with sliding unit 105 through a robotic link 107 installed between plate 106 and sliding unit 105 to position plate 106 in proximity to wheelchair to enable user to get accommodated over plate 106, a pair of inverted L-shaped telescopic bars 108 installed over lateral sides of plate 106 to enable user to grip bars 108 as a hand rest while getting accommodated over the plate 106, plurality of rollers 109 installed over plate 106 to rotate on axis for helping user in transferring over seat."
