MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079831 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 24, 2023, for 'sitting assistive device for performing daily chores.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sitting assistive device for performing daily chores, comprises of a body 1 configured with multiple motorized wheels 2 that are activated to manoeuvre the body 1 over a ground surface, a seat 3 fabricated over a platform 4 attached over the body 1 to provide a seating space to a user, a pair of slots 5 carved over the platform 4 to allow the user to position knees over the slots 5 a back rest 6 attached over the platform 4 via a rod 7 to provide a support to the user's back portion, a motorized roller 8 wrapped with a strap 9 paired with the back rest 6, activated by a microcontroller to rotate on axis for unwrapping the strap 9 to loop around the user's abdomen portion, a Peltier unit 11 to provide a heating effect s means of providing a comfort to the user."
