MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527075663 A) filed by KCFB S. A., Melide, Switzerland, on Aug. 8, for 'skin patch comprising a bioabsorbable skin substitute and relative production process.'
Inventor(s) include Costa, Massimo; Passi, Alberto; Carava, Elena; Galgano, Marta; and Giuntini, Ilaria.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The subject matter of the invention relates to a bioabsorbable skin substitute A) for ulcers and wounds, obtained by subjecting a composition A1) comprising, a cellular component a) in turn comprising fibroblasts, and a mixture b) comprising hyaluronic acid, fibrin and/or platelet-rich plasma gel (PRP), to a cryogenic procedure comprising the following steps: cooling at 4 C and maintaining the composition A1) at such a temperature for a time comprised between 1 and 2 hours; freezing at -20 C of the composition A1) and maintaining the same at this temperature for a time of at least 18 hours."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 20, 2024, under International application No.PCT/IB2024/051595.
