MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122315 A) filed by Dr. N. G. P. Arts And Science College, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'sleep driving: sleep walking variants in treatments of adult primary insomnia by using value added herbal mix.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. D. Sridevi; Ms. Vishalini TSK; Dr. Priya A; and Dr. D. Jancy Rani.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The grains (wheat, soybean, and finger millet) were sprouted then ground into fine particles. The banana was ground into a paste and dried in a cabinet dryer. Nuts were roasted in a heated pan for 2-5 minutes. These ingredients were mixed in a 6 different ratio and further sensory analysis was done by the semi trained panel members and the nutrient composition and Shelf life analysis was carried out for selected variation. The results revealed that the herbal mix variation IV is highly acceptable which contains 36.99g of carbohydrate, 9.5g of protein, 7.68g of fat, 4.92g of fiber, 240mg of iron, 200mg of phosphorous, 0.12mg of calcium, 48mg of vitamin C, 3.84mg of isoflavones and 18.04mg of tryptophan. The storage capacity of the product was about 30 days based on microbial and organoleptic analysis. The developed product helps to increase better sleeping quality and reduce REM sleep."
