MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104227 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'smart automated cloth drying system with weather-adaptive sensor control and motorized rod mechanism.'
Inventor(s) include Soni Singh; Kirti; and Arpita.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A smart cloth drying system (100) is disclosed for automated protection of garments against rain and excessive sunlight. The system includes a motorized rod (102) capable of 90 or 180 rotation, capacitive rain sensors (104) for precipitation detection, and light/UV sensors (106) for monitoring solar intensity. A microcontroller (108) processes sensor inputs to automatically adjust rod orientation or deploy a protective shield (110), preventing fabric damage. The motorized rod (102) is constructed from corrosion-resistant materials for outdoor durability. The system (100) provides space optimization for balconies and reduces manual intervention, prolonging garment life. Optional IoT integration enables remote monitoring and control. By combining environmental sensing, automated rod control, and protective shielding, the system (100) delivers reliable, convenient, and efficient cloth drying suitable for residential and commercial outdoor applications."
