MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541116164 A) filed by Nandha Engineering College, Erode, Tamil Nadu, on Nov. 24, 2025, for 'smart balcony safety and monitoring system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a Smart Balcony Safety and Monitoring System that integrates IT echnology and automation to enhance user safety, comfort, and environmental awareness. The ~ystem comprises an ESP32 microcontroller connected to motion, temperature, humidity, and rain sensors for real-time monitoring. When unsafe movement or adverse weather is detected, the system automatically activates servo-controlled blinds, smart lights, and a buzzer alarm to ensure preventive safety. The invention also features voice control for hands-free operation and an lOT cloud dashboard that enables remote monitoring, data logging, and device control through a smartphone or computer. A low-voltage or solar-powered backup ensures uninterrupted operation. The proposed system is energy-efficient, modular, and easily installable on existing balconies. It provides an intelligent, adaptive, and user-friendly safety solution for residential and commercial applications, ransfom1ing conventional balconies into smart, secure, and automated environments."
