MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024896 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'smart mobile phone holding device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A smart mobile phone holding device, comprising a body 1 configured with a flap 2 via a motorized hinge developed to accommodate a mobile phone, wherein the flap 2 is adapted for covering screen of the phone, a fingerprint scanner 3 mapped on the body 1 that is accessed by a user for imprinting the fingerprints, a speaker 4 mounted on the body 1, wherein in case of unauthorized access of the fingerprints, the microcontroller activates a clasp 5 hinged with the body 1 to fasten the phone in order to prevent access to the phone to the unauthorized user and an inflatable bag 6 connected to the body 1 for inflating to absorb the impact over the phone thereby preventing damage to the phone."
