MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611022740 A) filed by ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 26, for 'smart waste segregation bin system and method for automated waste classification.'

An IoT communication layer enables real-time monitoring of waste accumulation and system health through a cloud-based platform. The invention eliminates manual segregation, reduces contamination of recyclable materials, enhances safety, and supports data-driven waste management. The system is suitable for deployment in smart cities, public spaces, and institutional environments requiring intelligent and automated waste handling."
