MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024818 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'socks removal assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shivani Vaid; Manisha; Harshit; and Priyanshu.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A socks removal assistive device, comprising a body 1 positioned on a ground surface and configured with an extendable platform 2 equipped with a drawer arrangement 4 for accommodating foot of user, an imaging unit 3 installed on the body 1 to detect dimensions of the user's foot, a microphone mounted in the body 1 for receiving voice commands, a pair of robotic links 5 installed on front portion of the body 1 to grip the front end of the socks securely, plurality of motorized clippers 6 configured with lateral sides of the platform 2 via a robotic arm 7 for loosening the sock from user's foot, a slider 8 configured in between the platform 2 and robotic arm 7 to remove socks from foot, an electronic sprayer 9 connected with a chamber 10 to spray fragrance solution over the socks for eliminating unpleasant smell from the socks."
