MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611049876 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on April 20, for 'solar-assisted anti-frost evaporator system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Piyush Mahendru; Dr. Smriti Mishra; Dr. Gianender Kajal; and Mr. Mandeep Bhadana.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a solar-assisted anti-frost evaporator system comprising an evaporator body comprising a heat-exchange surface and a nano-composite coating disposed on the heat-exchange surface. The nano-composite coating comprises a photothermal layer for converting incident solar radiation into heat at the heat-exchange surface, a hydrophobic nano-structured layer for reducing adhesion of condensed water and retarding ice nucleation, and a thermal conductive layer thermally coupled with the photothermal layer and the heat-exchange surface for distributing generated heat along the heat-exchange surface. Cooperative action of the photothermal layer, the hydrophobic nano-structured layer, and the thermal conductive layer delays frost formation and sustains heat transfer at the evaporator body."
