MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611049877 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on April 20, for 'solar-assisted exhaust heat recovery unit.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Piyush Mahendru; Dr. Prashant Bhardwaj; Dr. Jimmy Mehta; Dr. Pradeep Kr Mouria; and Dr. Gianender Kajal.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a solar-assisted exhaust heat recovery unit comprising a housing defining an exhaust air passage, a composite heat exchanger module disposed within the housing for receiving exhaust air and transferring heat from the exhaust air to a receiving medium, a solar thermal collector coupled with the composite heat exchanger module for supplying thermal energy to the receiving medium, and an output conduit coupled with the composite heat exchanger module for routing the receiving medium for pre-conditioning incoming air or for water heating. The unit may further employ a thermally conductive composite exchanger body, protective surface treatments, phase-change thermal storage, modular exchanger cassettes, counterflow exchanger passages, condensate-management structures, annular solar-transfer jackets, and support arrangements for accommodating thermal expansion."
