MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018404 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research, New Delhi, on March 12, 2024, for 'solar panel continuous flow reactor merged with artificial light for carbene insertion reactions.'
Inventor(s) include Ajay Kumar Singh; Abhilash Rana; and Ruchi Chauhan.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to merger of solar tracker with artificial light continuous flow reactor for the carbene insertion into N-H bonds, O-H bonds, S-H bonds, double bond, triple bond and their derivatives. Further extended to the synthesis of clopidogrel antiplatelet drug molecule and late-stage functionalization of bioactive molecule from vitamin D3, cholesterol, and drug molecules such as felbinac, sitagliptin, linezolid, Olmesartan and iblufenac started from the corresponding diazo compound. The present invention more particularly, relates to a process for synthesis of such intermediates in a solar tracker flow reactor designed for carrying out the process in day and night continuously with merger of solar tracker in sunlight and artificial light in absence of sunlight."
