MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414052741 A) filed by Kabushiki Kaisha Toshiba; and Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation, Tokyo, on July 10, 2024, for 'steam valve and steam turbine plant including this.'

Inventor(s) include Kazuhiro Yokoshima; Yasutaka Kawada; Kouhei Yamada; Shunichi Horii; Shogo Yoshihara; and Ryuhei Takemaru.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A steam valve of an embodiment includes: a valve casing 30 including a steam inlet portion 31, a steam outlet portion 32, and a steam chamber 33, and having an opening portion 34 communicating with the steam chamber 33; a valve seat 70 provided in the steam chamber 33 in the valve casing; a valve cover 40 installed on the valve casing 30 to close the opening portion 34, and having a through hole 40a; a bush 41 in a cylindrical shape, fitted in the through hole 40a; a valve rod 50 penetrating the bush to be slidable therein; and a valve element 60 provided at one end of the valve rod 50. On an outer peripheral surface 50a of the valve rod 50 sliding in the bush, or an inner peripheral surface 41a of the bush 41, a coating layer 51 by PVD is formed."
