MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517084555 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Sept. 5, for 'steel material corrosion amount prediction model generation method, steel material corrosion amount prediction method, structure corrosion management method, structure manufacturing method, steel material management method, corrosion amount prediction model generation program, and steel material corrosion amount prediction system.'

Inventor(s) include Omoda, Masataka; Otsuka, Shinji; and Takagi, Shusaku.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This steel material corrosion amount prediction model generation method includes: a first acquisition step for acquiring an environmental parameter of an arbitrarily defined period in an environment where particulate bodies are deposited; a second acquisition step for acquiring the corrosion amount of a steel material in the arbitrarily defined period; and a corrosion amount prediction model generation step for generating a steel material corrosion amount prediction model by using the environmental parameter as an explanatory variable and the corrosion amount of the steel material as an objective variable. The corrosion amount prediction model involves predicting the corrosion amount of the steel material on the basis of an autoregression for predicting the corrosion amount Cn of the steel material in a target period from the corrosion amount of the steel material in a period before the target period and a corrosion-amount increasing amount per unit time."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 19, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/005819.
