MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641024912 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology; and Easwari Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on March 3, for 'structural chassis for urban e-commuter.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present design relates to a reinforced tubular step-through chassis specifically engineered for a long-wheelbase urban electric two-wheeler. The chassis features an extended 1350 mm wheelbase to enhance high-speed stability and provide an expanded housing area for high-capacity battery units. Constructed from IS 3074 ERW-3 steel, the frame is designed to maintain structural integrity during extreme deceleration events with a Factor of Safety of 3.19."
