MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641048627 A) filed by JC's Bat Science Private Limited, Thrisssur, Kerala, on April 16, for 'structurally modified footwear having front heel support.'
Inventor(s) include Chungath Issac Jackson.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a structurally modified footwear, particularly chappals, sandals or slippers, comprising an upper strap (1), a sole portion (2), a front heel elevation (3) integrally formed at the forefoot region of the sole portion (2), and a forefoot support area (4) provided above the front heel elevation. The front heel elevation (3) is configured to raise the forefoot region of the user's foot relative to the rear portion of the sole, which remains relatively lower or flat. This unique sole configuration alters natural foot positioning and shifts body weight distribution towards the forefoot during standing and walking. The structural modification facilitates improved pelvic alignment and contributes to better spinal alignment. The invention provides a simple, compact, ergonomic and easy-to-manufacture daily-wear footwear product using conventional materials and standard manufacturing processes."
