MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011164 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'sunflower seed harvesting device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Pragyan Paramita Pattnaik.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sunflower seed harvesting device, comprising a cuboidal housing 101 with a hopper for feeding sunflowers onto a conveyor belt inside the housing 101, blowers 104 remove dust and chaff, while an exhaust fan with a HEPA filter absorbs particles, an inverted U-shaped rod 105 with a pneumatic pusher 106 and motorized shaft 107 separates seeds from flowers, a moisture sensor to activate an infrared heater 108 for drying or a humidifier 109 for moisture adjustment, an AI-based imaging unit 110 aids in processing sunflower images for optimized belt speed and seed separation, seeds fall through a vibrating perforated tray 111 into a chamber 112 equipped with nozzles 113 for protective coating, a motorized stirrer 114 ensures uniform coating, while a secondary infrared emitter dries the coating and a tank 115 stores the coating fluid."
