MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084003 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 8, 2023, for 'sunlight-based food items drying device.'

Inventor(s) include Rajni Verma; Anmol Gautam; and Ashwini K. Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sunlight-based food items drying device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 installed with multiple cuboidal members 3 made from parallely arranged rectangular transparent units 4 for placing food items that are to be dried, a camera 5 mounted on the body 1 for capturing multiple images of the members 3, a sun sensor mapped on the body 1 for detecting direction of sun, multiple convex lens 6 installed on the body 1 via multiple motorized pivot joints 7 for directing maximum sunlight within the body 1, a pair of motorized hinges 8 configured between each of the members 3 and side walls of the body 1 for flipping the members 3 to dry the food items from both sides, and multiple moisture sensors configured with each of the units 4 for detecting moisture level of the food items."
