MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025976 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'surface cable/ pipe protecting device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A surface cable/ pipe protecting device comprises a hump-shaped structure 1 developed positioned on a ground surface laid with cables and pipelines, multiple suction cups for affixing the structure 1 with the surface, an artificial imaging unit 2 to detect dimensions and exact location of the cables/ pipes, a pair of motorized slider 3 for adjusting position of multiple plates 4 for making an ample amount of gapping in between the plates 4 as required for accommodating the cables/ pipes underneath the structure 1, a proximity sensor for monitoring presence of any vehicle in proximity to the structure 1, and multiple motorized two axis-lead screws 5 for translating a damper 6, a PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor) for detecting presence of rodents/ reptiles in proximity to the structure 1, and an ultrasonic emitter to emit high frequency ultrasonic waves for deterring the / rodent/ reptile away from the structure 1."
