MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414044173 A) filed by Delta Electronics, Inc., Taoyuan, Taiwan, on June 7, 2024, for 'surge suppressor and method of operating the same.'
Inventor(s) include Li, Sheng-Hua.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A surge suppressor (6) is connected in parallel to a circuit breaker (5) of an input path (L) of a MVAC conversion circuit (4). The surge suppressor (6) includes a plurality of surge suppression circuits (62), and each surge suppression circuit (62) includes a rectification circuit (622), a switch (624, 624-1 to 624-n), a controller (626), and a conversion circuit (628). The rectification circuit (622) includes an AC terminal (Eac, Eac2) and a rectification terminal (Er1, Er2), and the AC terminals (Eac1, Eac2) of the surge suppression circuits (62) are coupled in series. The switch (624, 624-1 to 624-n) is coupled to the rectifier terminal, the controller (626) receives a control command (CL) and provides a control signal (Sc) according to the control command (CL). The conversion circuit (628) is coupled to the controller (626) and the switch (624, 624-1 to 624-n), and provides a control voltage (Vc) modulated by the control signal. The control voltage (Vc) adjusts an on-resistance (R, R1 to Rn) of the switch (624, 624-1 to 624-n) to adjust a magnitude of a first current (I1) flowing through the switch (624, 624-1 to 624-n)."
