MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010037 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'swimming pool maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Neeraj Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A swimming pool maintenance device, comprises of a frame 1 having a pair of base plates 2 positioned in proximity to copying of a swimming pool via multiple suction cups 3, an imaging unit 9 to detect presence of person within or in proximity to pool, a timer to monitor time-duration of person's absence, a motorized roller 4 wrapped with a hydrophobic sheet 5 to cover the pool with the sheet 5 for preventing dust/debris getting deposited over pool, an ultrasonic sensor to detect presence of debris on water, a net-like structure 10 arranged on sheet 5 via hinge joints 11 to collect the debris over structure 10, a weight sensor to detect weight of person over sheet 5 when person is drowning, and an air inflatable layer 12 fabricated on sheet 5 to get inflated for preventing steeping down of sheet 5 due to person's weight."
