MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056844 A) filed by Bae Systems Plc, London, on June 13, for 'switch,electronic safe and arm unit,fuze system,munition and method.'

Inventor(s) include Neve, Matthew David; and Hucker, Martyn John.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "According to the present disclosure there is provided a switch for controlling electrical power supplied by a power source to an electronic safe and arm unit, ESAU, or a munition, the switch comprising: a contact assembly arrangement comprising a contact assembly (112) of a first type arrangeable in a first arrangement defining a first switch state and a second arrangement defining a second switch state, wherein centrifugal force caused by rotation of the switch causes movement of at least a part of the contact assembly of the first type to change the arrangement of the contact assembly of the first type from the first arrangement to the second arrangement."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 05, 2023, under International application No.PCT/GB2023/053133.
