MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641001519 A) filed by Dayananda Sagar University, Kanakpura, Karnataka, on Jan. 6, for 'synthesis of 4-[(2-chloro-5-nitroanilino) methyl]-7-hydroxy-2h-chromen-2-one as keap1 inhibitors for alzheimer's disease.'

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Synthesis of 4-[(2-chloro-5-nitroanilino) methyl]-7-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one as Keap1 inhibitors for Alzheimer's Disease Abstract The present invention describes the synthesis of novel 4-amino-substituted coumarin derivative, 4-[(2-chloro-5-nitroanilino) methyl]-7-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one. The synthesized compound is non-cytotoxic, possess inhibition of Keap 1 protein and neuroprotective properties, thereby can be useful for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease."
