MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421017411 A) filed by Lti Mindtree Ltd., Maharashtra, on March 11, 2024, for 'system and method for detecting trolls in social media using a fusion of quantum algorithms and classical artificial intelligence algorithm.'

Inventor(s) include Arvind Sundara Rajan.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a method (300) and system (100) for detecting trolls in social media using quantum algorithms and machine learning techniques. The method and system involves receiving a social media message thread exchanged among a plurality of users and extracting a plurality of attributes from the message thread. Thereafter, in response to extracting the attributes, encoding the attributes onto a plurality of Quantum bits (qubits). The method and system evaluates the plurality of qubits by employing a fusion of quantum algorithm and classical AI algorithm to compute a score corresponding to a plurality of parameters. The method and system also determines a probability of trolling behavior within the social media message thread based on a final weighted score derived corresponding to the scores of each parameter of the plurality of parameters. Finally, a causal analysis is performed for identifying underlying causes contributing to trolling behavior."
