MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311085518 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 14, 2023, for 'system and method for determining a position of bluetooth/wi-fi enabled devices.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a method (300) for determining a position of a first device (101). Further, the method includes receiving (311), by a second device (103), the spread spectrum-modulated audio signal from the first device (101). Furthermore, the method includes demodulating (311), by the second device (103), the received spread spectrum-modulated audio signal to extract a chirp audio signal and the unique identifier. Further, the method includes determining (315), by the second device (103), a time difference of arrival (TDoA) and an Intensity difference of Arrival (IDoA) of the chirp audio signal. Further, the method includes determining (325), by the second device (103), the position of the first device (101) based on the determined TDoA and IDoA."
