MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521126422 A) filed by General Industrial Controls Private Limited, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 13, 2025, for 'system and method for dynamic and power-efficient voltage adaptive relay drive.'

Inventor(s) include Lunawat, Harshal Subhash; and Kulkarni, Rushikesh Chandrakant.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A DC relay driving system (100) directly operates a DC relay using a voltage and supply sensing unit (104), and accommodates a wide range of AC or DC voltages. An electromechanical switching unit (102) is coupled to a digital control module (106) and the voltage and supply sensing unit (104) that regulates relay activation through pulse-width modulation. A current minimization module (108) is attached to the electromechanical switching unit (102) and the control module (106), including a microcontroller unit (106-A), optimizing efficiency by utilizing the relay inductance to reduce steady-state current. An overvoltage protection unit (110) safeguards the system (100) from voltage surges by controlling transient voltages with short pulses. A drive circuit (112) interfaces with the electromechanical switching unit (102) and control module (106), minimizing switching losses and delays. An analog and digital feedback loop (114) is connected to the control module (106) and voltage and supply sensing unit (104), adjusting supply voltages to ensure consistent relay performance during fluctuations."
