MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124770 A) filed by Daimler Truck Ag, Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'system and method for enhancing health of a battery pack.'

Inventor(s) include Ashik Krishna E G; Jaganath Venkatesh; and Mythili Nagaraj.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein are a system (100) and a method (500) for enhancing health of a battery pack (108). The system (100) for enhancing health of a battery pack (110) includes a plurality of battery cells (108). The system (100) includes a sensing unit (102) configured to monitor a state of charge (SOC) and a state of health (SOH) of each of the plurality of battery cells (108), a memory (106) and a processor (104) operatively coupled with the sensing unit (102) and the memory (106). The processor (104) is configured to receive the SOC and the SOH of each of the plurality of battery cells (108), calculate an imbalance in depth based on an absolute difference in SOH between a maximum-SOH battery cell and a minimum-SOH battery cell, determine dynamic depth-of-discharge (DOD) limits based on the imbalance in depth, calculate a balancing current to be discharged from the maximum-SOH battery cell to the minimum-SOH battery cell and execute a cell balancing operation based on the dynamic DOD limits and the balancing current."
