Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'System And Method For Filtered Intra Block Copy Prediction' Filed by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp. Ltd.

MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517080034 A) filed by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on Aug. 23, for 'system and method for filtered intra block copy prediction.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "According to another aspect of the present disclosure, a system is provided. The system may include a processor and memory storing instructions. The memory storing instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to identify whether a filtered intra block copy (FIBC) mode is enabled for a current block. The memory storing instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, in response to the FIBC mode being enabled for the current block, generate a filtered predictor block by applying a shift-invariant weighting filter to a reference block, instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to encode the current block based on the filtered predictor block."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 30, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/013509.
