MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421036850 A) filed by Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Maharashtra, on May 9, 2024, for 'system and method for identifying, enhancing, and generating microservices application programming interface (api) designs.'
Inventor(s) include Lagad, Kiran Subhan; Maiti, Sudipta; and Shaikh, Kamruzzaman.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Traditionally, application programming interface generation requests are placed to API platform team who review, interpret functionality, work on clarifications, and estimate timeline to design and build the API. This approach is not only time consuming but also leads to potential gaps in delivering API design that may not completely satisfy the business requirement. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide API design self-servicing creation systems and methods that learn and improve over the period. A System of Record (SoR) layer builds the SoR Metadata Repository containing the fields exposed by SoR, that enables enhancing and updating the business names, definitions, and business use cases, and finally, required API design is generated based on associated attributes identified using a fine-tuned user intent captured and identified through various touchpoints. The generated API design is then registered into an API platform for integration with desired environment(s)."
