According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (200) and a system (100) for optimizing minimization drive test (MDT) in wireless communication networks by reducing a user equipment (UE) dependency on base station-triggered configurations is disclosed. The system (100) includes a UE (102) and a base station (104). The UE (102) is configured to transmit a UE capability message indicating support for a feature, representing that the UE (102) includes a default set of self-MDT logged configurations based on one or more UE conditions, to the base station (104). The base station (104) transmits a control signal to enable the feature, and to allow the UE (102) to perform MDT measurement based on one or more trigger conditions, using one of the default set of self-MDT logged configurations based on a UE condition from the one or more UE conditions."
