The method includes retrieving a configuration file associated with the network entity from a central database based on user input received via a user interface and parsing the retrieved configuration file to determine an existence of at least one configuration audit command in a predefined mode. Based on the parsing, the at least one configuration audit command is executed with at least one linguistic parameter to perform a compliance test on the parsed configuration file. The compliance test is performed to determine whether the at least one configuration audit command exists in the configuration file according to one or more configuration audit rules of a plurality of configuration audit rules. A configuration audit report for the network entity 110 is generated based on the compliance test."
