MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541125355 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'system and method for physiological training.'

Inventor(s) include Agash JP; Athul Krishna P V; Karhtik R; and Praveen Joe I R.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a physiological training system integrated within a dumbbell (101). The system (100) may include a gyroscope (102) configured to detect motion data corresponding to acceleration and angular velocity, and an oximeter sensor (104) to monitor physiological parameters of a user. The system further includes a control unit (202) having a processor (302) and memory (304) storing instructions that, when executed, cause the control unit (202) to analyze the received motion and physiological data to determine valid repetitions, set completion, and exercise type. The control unit (202) may further adjust predefined motion thresholds based on exercise type and detected fatigue patterns, and generate alerts for invalid repetitions or unsafe physiological conditions. The system (100) may also transmit repetition, set, and health data to the user via a wireless communication interface (204), providing real-time feedback, adaptive guidance, and enhanced workout monitoring in a single portable device."
