MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521012434 A) filed by The Tata Power Company Limited, Maharashtra, on Feb. 13, 2025, for 'system and method for pre-emptive safeguarding of electrical network equipment.'
Inventor(s) include Patel, Amitkumar Kantilal; Das, G Ganesh; Kapoor, Naresh; Chand, Chinmaya; and Roy, Samiron.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a system (100) and method (200) for pre-emptive safeguarding of electrical network equipment. The system (100) comprises an outdoor-installed housing (104) enclosing a sensor module, a processing module (111), a communication module (118), and a power management module (128). The sensor module measures multiple environmental parameters at an installation site and provides sensor data to the processing module (111). The processing module (111) processes the sensor data using a decision-making algorithm to identify localized inclement or extreme weather conditions. Upon detection of such conditions, the system (100) generates alerts and triggers control signals, which are transmitted by the communication module (118) for monitoring and operational response. The power management module (128) supplies operating power from a primary power source and a backup power source to ensure continuous operation. The system (100) provides real-time, site-specific weather information to support reliable operation and protection of electrical network infrastructure."
