MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611007786 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, New Delhi, on Jan. 27, for 'system and method for predicting an optimal uplink carrier configuration in dual connectivity.'
Inventor(s) include Aggarwal, Monika; Dube, Puja; and Pandey, Brijesh Chander.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (900) for predicting an optimal uplink carrier configuration in a dual connectivity, is disclosed. The method (900) includes receiving, from a User Equipment (UE) (202), first uplink-related measurement parameters. The method (900) includes receiving, from a Secondary-Node (208), second uplink-related measurement parameters. The method (900) includes predicting an optimal uplink carrier configuration based on processing, by a machine learning model, the first uplink-related measurement parameters and the second uplink-related measurement parameters. The method (900) includes performing one of: coordinating the predicted configuration with the SN (208) for scheduling uplink transmission based on the predicted uplink carrier configuration; or indicating the predicted configuration to an O-RAN Distributed Unit (O-DU) of each of the MN (204) and the SN (208) to enable the O-DU for scheduling the uplink transmission based on the predicted uplink carrier configuration."
