MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621007401 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 25, for 'system and method for product recommendation.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Prashant Jain; Prof. Dimpal Sahu; Dr. Deepak Agrawal; Reena Kuswaha; and Madhu Chirghute.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) for product recommendation is disclosed, comprising a hardware processor (102) communicably coupled with a memory (104) and operatively connected to a transformer-based processing engine (106). The hardware processor (102) obtains user interaction data (108A) and product data (108B) from the memory (104). The hardware processor (102) generates semantic embeddings from user reviews and product descriptions using the transformer-based processing engine (106) configured to perform contextual language understanding. The hardware processor (102) generates relational features by performing graph neural network analysis on a user-item interaction graph (110). The hardware processor (102) fuses the semantic embeddings with the relational features to generate hybrid feature representations (112). The hardware processor (102) generates a multi-layer explainability output (114) and a ranked list of product recommendations (116). The hardware processor (102) communicates the ranked list (116) with the multi-layer explainability output (114) to a user device (118) to display personalized product recommendations."
