MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641025197 A) filed by Vit-Ap University, Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, on March 3, for 'system and method for real-time sentiment analysis.'

Inventor(s) include Sivaprasad Bellamkonda; and E. Ajith Jubilson.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a system (102) and a method (200) for real-time sentiment analysis. The system (100) includes a data acquisition unit (102) configured to acquire real-time data streams from social media platforms through application programming interfaces. A processor (104) is operatively coupled to the data acquisition unit (102). The processor (104) includes a memory (106) storing instructions which, upon execution, cause the processor (104) to receive data associated with the real-time data streams, preprocess the received data by performing text normalization and filtering to remove neutral or low-relevance content to obtain pre-processed data, and classify the preprocessed data into predefined sentiment categories using a lexicon-based polarity filtering model (104-1). The processor (104) further predicts sentiment and emotion associated with the classified data using a hybrid machine learning and deep learning model (104-2) and generates notifications or alerts based on the predicted sentiment and emotion."
