MUMBAI, India, July 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521062171 A) filed by MKSSSs Cummins College Of Engineering For Women, Pune, Maharashtra, on June 30, for 'system and method for structural condition monitoring of railway vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Atul K Joshi; Oorja Kuldeep Patil; Shruti Rajesh Pawar; Swarali Nilesh Savale; and Vaishnavi Sudhir Sutrave.
The application for the patent was published on July 11, under issue no. 28/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a system (100) for structural condition monitoring of a railway vehicle. The system (100) comprises an array of sensors installed on the railway vehicle to continuously measure parameters such as vibration, temperature, load, and speed. The data collected from these sensors is transmitted in real-time to a controller unit, which processes and forwards the data to a digital storage device and an IoT-based analyzer module configured to generate standard templates for temperature and vibration based on operational conditions and to perform predictive analytics by comparing real-time data with these templates and predefined thresholds. The system is capable of generating alerts in case of probable bearing failure, thereby enabling proactive maintenance."
